Artist's Lab FAQ
Very little. Most supplies can be found around the house or purchased inexpensively online or locally. Common materials include pencils, pens, air-dry clay, string, fabric scraps, construction paper, glue, old magazines, and newspaper.
You’ll receive a materials list each month in advance, so nothing is last-minute or costly.
Breakout rooms are intentionally structured, supportive, and fun.
• Groups are limited to no more than 5 students
• Students begin with 1–3 light, art-related icebreaker questions
• They then collaborate on a creative challenge or prompt together
The instructor actively moderates and rotates through rooms to offer guidance, answer questions, and ensure a positive experience.
Not exactly. While everyone works from the same skill focus or prompt, projects are often open-ended, allowing for personal expression and unique outcomes. There will be "draw-alongs" and step-by-step exercises in order to build skills and spark inspiration along the way, but there are no cookie-cutter results or instruction.
Both! This is a skills and craft-based art studio. While projects are fun and engaging, there is emphasis is on learning foundational art concepts and developing creative confidence, not just completing a one-off craft. While skills are the tools, craft is the mastery and application of those tools.
